"Rigid notions of masculinity are reflected in the rigid socialization of males that, in turn, is reflected in the more rigid standards that people apply to other males and, if they are male, to themselves. It is also very interesting that this is a judgment males do not perpetrate upon females; males, like females, describe their ideal female in very androgynous terms, and indeed, in less stereotypic terms than they describe actual females."
